At WUIS, we are proud to start an exciting journey of inquiry-based learning through Unit of Inquiry program. As an IB PYP candidate school, we are dedicated to providing our students with a well-rounded education that encourages students to be inquirers and thinkers. In Unit of Inquiry classes, students are encouraged to ask questions, investigate topics of interest, and collaborate with their peers to find solutions. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and research projects, students develop essential skills (Approaches to Learning) such as thinking skills, research skills, communication skills, social skills and self-management skills. One of the key features of Unit of Inquiry program is the emphasis on student-led learning. Teachers act as facilitators, guiding students through the inquiry process and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning journey. This approach empowers students to develop a sense of agency and independence as they explore new concepts and ideas. Furthermore, Unit of Inquiry program promotes interdisciplinary learning by integrating various subject areas into each unit. Students can make connections between different disciplines, such as science, social studies, English, arts, and mathematics, to gain a holistic understanding of the world around them. Our dedicated teachers work tirelessly to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to take risks, learn from mistakes, and grow as individuals.
